Journalism.co.uk- a Journalist’s Life Saver!

Posted on March 25, 2008. Filed under: Newsy |

I’ve just been introduced to journalism.co.uk; a site devoted to the craft of journalism and the very site no well established or budding journalist should live without!

To begin with, as your eyes glance over the site, it is quite apparent that it is cleverly laid out. The top of the site provides the user with a multitude of useful tabs. These include blogs, allowing amateur and professional bloggers alike to interact with kindreds, or simply allowing users to read the most popular blogs of the day. Other tabs include freelance, which allows the user to view freelance positions available. On the other end of the spectrum, the freelance tab also allows employers to locate local freelance journalists as well as advertise vacancies.

The most interesting facet of this site for me, however, was the directory. Located in the far right of the site, this tab provides users with an ocean of contacts in a range of expert areas, from media law to photojournalism. Since contact building is the cornerstone of journalism, no matter what area you pursue, I find this revelation to be extremely useful.

In conclusion, having examined journalism.co.uk, I found it to be a credit to its target audience!
